The Cooper Gallery is a vibrant art-space in the heart of Barnsley, showing a programme of contemporary touring exhibitions and exciting events.
The Cooper Gallery has been transformed over the last 12 months thanks to a grant of £638,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The objective was to extend the building in order to display more of the wonderful Cooper Collection, which also includes masterpieces by artists such as Thomas Girtin, John Ruskin, JMW Turner, Eugene Isabey, Henry Moore, Paul Nash, Jacob Kramer and Vanessa Bell.
The new interior and external spaces are great places for people to enjoy art, changing exhibitions, family activities, shopping and a cafe.
