The T-Shirt: Cult | Culture | Subversion is an insight into the history and culture of the most ubiquitous, affordable and popular garment of the last 50 years, the t-shirt.

Over the years the t-shirt has served as a means to broadcast social, musical and political passions, and most recently become a creative tool for expressing innovative design.

The exhibition explores each of these incarnations of this everyday item. Spanning over 50 years and featuring over 100 rare and groundbreaking examples, the exhibition includes some of the most valuable examples in the world: rare surviving pieces customised by Vivienne Westwood in the 1970s, alongside classic designs from the archives of artists, musicians, collectors and designers.
